Paid Pre-Grad Clinical Internship Position: DBT Skills Coach

Calling all clinically motivated students or recent graduates! 

Evolve Adolescent Behavioral Health is looking for motivated candidates to join our team of dedicated professionals providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to teens with mental health and substance use struggles. As a DBT Skills Coach, you will receive intensive training, clinical supervision, and on-the-job immersion in this specialized treatment setting. You will learn the DBT treatment model and act as a member of the DBT team by providing adherent DBT Skills Coaching, co-leading DBT Skills Training Groups, facilitating clinical risk assessments, and more.  

Key Position Details 

• Competitive pay, with opportunities for increases at 6 months and 1 year  

• Full-time or part-time schedules available 

• No clinical experience required  

• Current BA or MA-level studies in psychology, counselling, or social work (or recent grad) preferred 

• Intensive (paid) clinical training provided by expert-level DBT clinicians 

• Work in a beautiful home-like setting with meals provided   

About the Role: This is a full or part-time non-exempt W2 position. 

What is DBT?  

DBT is an evidence-based treatment developed by Marsha Linehan that is highly effective in treating teens and adults who struggle with emotion dysregulation, intense interpersonal relationships, and suicidal thoughts and behaviors. DBT is a structured treatment with several core components, including individual therapy, skills training groups, coaching, and a consultation meeting for the providers. What is Evolve? 

Evolve Adolescent Behavioral Health has provided residential and outpatient treatment to teens and families in California since 2014. In 2016, Evolve’s first comprehensive residential DBT program opened in Tarzana, making it the first of its kind in the state. The program was initially developed by Alyson Orcena, LMFT, now Evolve’s Chief Clinical Officer. Alyson has completed extensive training in DBT through leading experts in the field and provides ongoing consultation, mentorship, and clinical training to the DBT programs at Evolve. DBT is truly “in the DNA” of all we do at Evolve and we are proud to help cultivate the future’s dedicated DBT providers through the training and mentorship provided in the DBT Skills Coach role.  

Pay Range: 

• $20.00 - $22.00 Hourly. Opportunity for pay increases at 6 months and a year
